Get Out: Your Guide to a Great Weekend

Add some of these events to your calendar for the weekend.

Where/When: Louden Nelson Community Center, 301 Center St., Santa Cruz. Friday, 7 p.m. and Saturday, 2 and 7 p.m.

What: All About Theatre, a community-theater company serving Santa Cruz County, will be staging “Beauty and the Beast” with its talented youth performers. The young thespians, between the ages of 8 and 13, hail from all over the county. They will transport the audience to the heart of provincial France as they tell the classic story of Belle and her taming of the Beast.

Price: Tickets are $12 for students/seniors, $16 for general admission and $20 for reserved seating. They can be purchased online at www.allabouttheatre.org, at the door, or at the ticket outlet at Petroglyph, 125 Walnut Ave., Santa Cruz.

Scotts Valley Artisans Mother’s Day Eve Arts & Crafts Fair

Where/When: Scotts Valley Artisans, 2230 Mt. Hermon Rd. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

What: Scotts Valley Artisans is a non-profit community art center featuring the work of over 150 Santa Cruz County artists. The Mother’s Day Eve Fair will feature those artists selling one-of-a-kind gifts just for mom. The event will also include demos by the artists and live music.

Price: Admission is free. Art works will be available at various prices.

Where/When: , 4402 Scotts Valley Dr. Saturday, 9 p.m.

What: Are you looking to release your inner rock star? Well, head to Malone’s ever Saturday night and belt out your favorite tune. The bar hosts Karaoke with Ken every week with a large variety of songs to choose from. Hear some tunes and scout out the local talent at this fun event.

Price: There is no cover charge, and food and drinks are available at various prices.

St. Philip’s Garden Tour and English Tea Luncheon

Where/When: St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 5271 Scotts Valley Dr. Sunday, seatings are on the half hour between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

What: The church is holding its 10th annual Garden Tour and English Tea Luncheon for the community and it is the perfect event to take mom to for a special Mother’s Day. The event will consist of a self-paced tour of some of Scotts Valley’s beautiful home gardens, including a breathtaking cottage-style rose garden and several neighborhood gardens that range from an intimate tropical oasis to a drought tolerant garden with rustic flagstone pathways. The tour will be followed by a High Tea Luncheon that will include English favorites such as scones, finger sandwiches, sausage rolls, English toffee and shortbread cookies.
