ANNOUNCING “VINS DES MONTAGNES”
The Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association representing more than 70 wineries located within one of the most unique natural environments for wine-growing in the world, announced today it will host a French-themed wine event and auction on Sunday, August 25 from 2p.m. to 5p.m. at Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton. The family friendly event, an annual fundraiser for SCMWA, will pair area wines, French cuisine, music and the rustic ambiance of Roaring Camp Railroads.
Dozens of wineries will be pouring selections from the Santa Cruz Mountains appellation and several restaurants will be preparing a variety of small plates. Auction items will include rare wines, getaways to world-class resorts, sporting tickets, unique private winemakers’ dinners and more.

“The mission of the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association is to raise visibility and awareness for the legendary wines grown in our unique appellation which includes San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties,” said Megan Metz, executive director of SCMWA. “This fundraising event raises needed funds to continue to tell the story of our area’s wines.”

Guests are invited to extend their experience at Roaring Camp by enjoying a train ride through the redwoods prior to the wine event. A train will depart at 12:30pm and return at 1:45pm. Discount train ride coupons are available at http://bit.ly/13k9AQG.

Tickets to “Vins des Montagnes” are $55 in advance for adults, $65 at the door; $15 for children under 12 years old. Ticket price includes wine tasting, small plates and entertainment.
