We in Scotts Valley and in the US have it Pretty Good

We in Scotts Valley, and in the US many times don't realize how lucky we are to live where we do. Let me explain...

I just got back from a 2 day trip deep into Mexico as I was flown in and asked to address a National organization on real estate issues and real estate matters.

So as I was taking questions from the audience, one person asked me how to build a page like the My Scotts Valley Facebook Page that we have here while keeping things private. Puzzled, I looked at him and said, "I don't understand your question".

He went on to tell me that they can't really have pages like My Scotts Valley for fear of the dangerous criminals that roam everywhere looking for someone to rob. They do not want anyone to know they have a job and they may have possessions for fear that they will be taken away from them either at night or in plain daylight.

With a lump in my throat, I had no answer at the time and I was just saddened to hear their plight.

Then everyone kept asking me, "Tell me about Scotts Valley, what does it look like? Are there parks and outdoor activities? Are there nice houses there?"

Wow, talk about a wake-up call for me. I was so humbled and saddened, then so appreciative of what we have not only in our beautiful town, but in our country. The Freedoms and Liberties that we have, we many times take for granted.

And lastly, it was pretty neat to know that people outside of our area, in other countries, have taken notice of "OUR" page here. I guess when they looked me up, they found this page and they were enamored and fascinated, and wished that they could have a My Scotts Valley Community Page instead of living in fear every day and night.

I think sometimes we all need to be in other people's shoes and home to realize just how good we have it.

The My Scotts Valley CommUNITY Facebook Page invites all of our Scotts Valley residents and businesses to join us and be a part of something special, in a place that's very special, our wonderful town of Scotts Valley. Visit and "Like" us at:
