Get Out in Scotts Valley: Ceram-A-Rama, Scotts Valley High Football and More

The Falcons look to make it three straight wins, the annual Santa Cruz County Fair is here and a local Fiesta at San Agustin Catholic Church.

Where/When: , 9341 Mill St., Ben Lomond. Friday, 6-9 p.m. 

Why Go: Meet visiting ceramic artist Wesley Anderegg, snack on barbeque potluck treats and enjoy the clay-inspired movie selection.  Free if you bring something to share at the barbeque. Come and be inspired! Meet fellow clay-heads and enjoy a fun evening at the Art Center!

Why Go: San Agustin gives back! Come join in the 41st Annual Family Fiesta and participate in our Fiesta Food Drive by bringing non-perishable food items for Second Harvest Food Bank and Society of St. Vincent de Paul. A yummy barbeque chicken meal will be available for lunch for adults and a hot dog meal for kids. 

Pricing: $10 adults, $5 children. 

Where/When: , 2601 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville. Through Sunday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m. 

Why Go: "Dancing With the Steers For 200 Years" is the theme for this year's County Fair. The fair will join fairs from across the country in celebrating the 200th anniversary of county fairs in America. Panels depicting that first fair, the history and highlights of fairs since, and the future of fairs, will be on display in the Harvest Building as an exhibit titled “Made in America–The Story of the Modern Fair.”  Arts and crafts, live music and a handful of other attractions will also take place throughout the week.

Where/When: 562 N. Britton Ave., Sunnyvale. Friday, 7 p.m. 

Why Go: The Scotts Valley High football team hits the road and heads over the hill this Friday to sqaure off against The King's Academy School in Sunnyvale. The Falcons will look to avenge a narrow defeat to the Knights last fall and improve to 3-0 overall in the 2011 campaign. Scotts Valley edged Half Moon Bay 34-29 last weekend at home. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. in Sunnyvale. 

Pricing: $7

Where/When: City of Scotts Valley Community Center, 360 Kings Village Rd. Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. 

Why Go: The weekly open-air market includes fresh organic fruit, vegetables, flowers, coffee and pastries, seafood, meat and eggs, showcasing the best in fresh-grown fruits and vegetables and local foods. Come out and shop and mingle with your fellow residents.
