Get Out in Scotts Valley: Eddie Money, Mountain Biking and More

A dinner out in Santa Cruz, the local Farmers Market, and Eddie Money hits the stage at the Beach Boardwalk th is weekend.

Where/When: Scotts Valley Library, Thursday, 6 p.m.

Why Go: A coed mountain bike team is being established for Scotts Valley and San Lorenzo Valley high school-age students. Stop by the informational meeting and see if the club is the right fit for you.

Where/When: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Saturday, 1-3:30 p.m. 

Why Go: Get your team of four together. Sign up online and pass the word along in the community to help drum up pledge donations for a worthy cause. The money raised through the Bowl-A-Thon directly supports Haven of Hope's mission to help children thrive in our community. Haven of Hope's program provides residential treatment services to foster youth and their families. Throw a strike or two this weekend and help members in need in your community 

Pricing: $100 of pledge money raised per bowler. 

Where/When: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Friday, shows at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. 

Why Go: The second to last show of the summer features rocker Eddie Money. Money burst onto the scene with his self-titled debut album in 1977 featuring hits "Baby Hold On" and "Two Tickets to Paradise." More catchy rock tunes soon followed, including "Take Me Home Tonight" and "I think I'm in Love." The Boardwalk fun is calling you and the family. Come out and rock out by the beach before it's too late.

Where/When: City of Scotts Valley Community Center, 360 Kings Village Rd. Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. 

Why Go: The weekly open-air market includes fresh organic fruit, vegetables, flowers, coffee and pastries, seafood, meat and eggs, showcasing the best in fresh-grown fruits and vegetables and local foods. Come out and shop and mingle with your fellow residents.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Chaminade Resort and Spa, 1 Chaminade Lane, Santa Cruz. Thursday, 6-9 p.m. 

Why Go: Dinner will be prepared by award-winning Chef Beverlie Terra, spotlighting fresh, local farm produce, local specialty products and endless wine. Diners will be served on the Terrace Patio with panoramic views overlooking the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.

Pricing: $100 per person. Ten percent discount applied to those that have attends previous dinners in this years series.
