Get Out in Scotts Valley: Scotts Valley High Football, Music at the Beach and More

Falcons football is back and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk music series is down to its final night this week in the Scotts Valley region.

Where/When: , 400 Beach St., Santa Cruz. Friday, 6:30-10 p.m. 

Why Go: Papa Doo Run Run returns to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk for their 22nd year. The group will perform classic tunes from the Beach Boys, Jan & Dean and many more. Don't miss the final free show at the beach of the summer!

Where/When: Capital Christian High School, 9470 Micron Ave., Sacramento. Saturday, 11 a.m. 

Why Go: The Scotts Valley High varsity football team opens the 2011 season this Saturday against Capital Christian High in Sacramento. The Falcons finished the 2010 season with a 3-5-2 record overall and a 3-1-2 mark in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play. 

Pricing: $8

Where/When: Capitola Village, Friday through Monday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.

Why Go: The festival will feature several events and attractions including a movie night, sand sculture contest, artist displays, concerts, a nautical parade and much more. There will be a free shuttle running from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. as well during all four days of the event.

Where/When: City of Scotts Valley Community Center, 360 Kings Village Rd. Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. 

Why Go: The weekly open-air market includes fresh organic fruit, vegetables, flowers, coffee and pastries, seafood, meat and eggs, showcasing the best in fresh-grown fruits and vegetables and local foods. Come out and shop and mingle with your fellow residents.

Where/When: , 100 Aviation Way, Watsonville. Friday through Sunday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

Why Go: Labor Day Weekend brings the Watsonville Fly-in and Air Show back to town. The event has been an annual event since 1964. Held at the Watsonville Municipal Airport the annual show features antique warbirds and experimental aircraft on static display, a world-class air show, vendors and food booths. 

Pricing: $15 Adults, $10 Children age 6 to 12, and kids under 6 get in for free.
