Get Out in Scotts Valley: Sinatra, Crafts and More

The timeless tunes of Frank, arts and crafts in the library and music at the beach can all be yours this week in and around Scotts Valley.

Where/When: Maggiano's, 3055 Olin Ave., San Jose. Doors open Friday night at 7 pm.

Why Go: Scotts Valley-based Golden Sight Productions brings back "The Sinatra Show" by popular demand. John Michael, a sensational vocalist and entertainer comes to Maggiano’s Little Italy performing Sinatra’s signature songs with the dynamic band Essence from Scotts Valley. Make the Friday night drive over the hill to Santana Row, support your fellow Scotts Valley residents and soak up the fun musical show!

Where/When: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Friday night, 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: The soul and funk band has been touring since the mid-70s. The group had a string of soul and disco hits between 1974 and 1980 including "Pick up the Pieces" and "Cut the Cake." The lively bunch continues to tour the globe to this day and will give beach visitors an end-of-the-week treat during their two performances Friday evening. 

Pricing: Free

Where/When: 6500 Soquel Ave., Santa Cruz (Aptos Farmers Market at Cabrillo College). Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon. 

Why Go: There will be lots of fun activities for kids, including Jimmy-the-Balloon-Man with his balloon creations and face painting.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Scotts Valley Library, 251 Kings Village Rd. Saturday, 1-4 p.m. 

Why Go: Drop in to the brand new Scotts Valley library and do a fun craft project this weekend. The summer-long program gives guests a different craft to tackle each week.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Oak Meadow Park, 333 Blossom Hill Rd., Los Gatos. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. 

Why Go: Classic works of theater at their finest will be on display this weekend at Oak Meadow Park. Macbeth, Friday night; Twelfth Night, Saturday night and Charley’s Aunt, Sunday night. All provide plenty of drama, lust and action for those in attendance. 

Pricing: $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and kids.
