Scotts Valley PD Taking Plunge For A Cause

Police, companies and residents are invited to get involved in the Silicon Valley Polar Plunge in March to support Northern California Special Olympics.

The Scotts Valley Police Department is challenging locals — and other law enforcement organizations — to help Special Olympians by taking a Polar Plunge.

The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, businesses, schools, and law enforcement agencies to support Special Olympics Northern California athletes by jumping or running into icy cold water in the middle of winter.

The fun is scheduled for March 16 at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

Plungers are invited to make this a party, with fun costumes and friends. No exercise required as you dip your toe or jump feet first into a winter-chilled body of water.

We live off of Scotts Valley Drive. There is a person that drives up and down Scotts Valley DriveRead More quite often. He has a dog that rides in the back of his pickup truck. The dog barks as he is riding and sounds like he is just in heaven going for those rides. We want to tip our hat to this man for being such a good dog parent. We look forward to hearing those barks of excitement for many moons to come. Right on sir! And keep on being the good parent you are.
