Severe Thunderstorms and Hail May Be Headed to Santa Cruz County

Stay safe, but grab those cameras and share some weather photos with us!

If last night's sudden downpour was a bit of a shock, the National Weather Service wants you to know ... you ain't seen nothing yet.

As of 4:47 p.m., the weather service announced a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for both Santa Cruz County and Santa Clara County. According to the weather service, there is a "20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11:00 p.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail and heavy rain."

The announcement also stated that there will be damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

The weather service also said that there may be hail tonight, up to 1 inch in diameter.

So stay safe, make sure that you move your belongings you don't want to get soaked to another place and bust out those camera phones and snap a few pics and share!

We live off of Scotts Valley Drive. There is a person that drives up and down Scotts Valley DriveRead More quite often. He has a dog that rides in the back of his pickup truck. The dog barks as he is riding and sounds like he is just in heaven going for those rides. We want to tip our hat to this man for being such a good dog parent. We look forward to hearing those barks of excitement for many moons to come. Right on sir! And keep on being the good parent you are.
