On Saturday, the Center for Animal Protection and Education held a dog adoption event outside Ace Hardware in the Kings Village Shopping Center. CAPE rescues unwanted dogs and helps alleviate animal shelters by placing unwanted animals into temporary foster homes. Santa Cruz County shelters are currently overrun with with small and toy breed dogs. For more information on CAPE sponsored programs and adoptions, visit capeanimals.org.
