Chamber to Host Taste of Scotts Valley

If you can’t wait for the 12th annual Scotts Valley Art & Wine Festival in Skypark on Aug. 13-14, you’re in luck. The Scotts Valley Chamber of Commerce will host the Taste of Scotts Valley Art & Wine Kickoff party on Thursday to whet your appetite and introduce you to some of the local artists who will be featured at this year’s festival.

The event is from 6-8 p.m. at the Scotts Valley Hilton, 6001 La Madrona Dr., and will include food samplings from local restaurants and wine tastings from the festival wineries. There will also be a silent auction and raffle featuring the art work of several of this year’s artists.

Local artist Sheila Collins, who is this year’s event poster contest winner, will also be on hand to give a first look at the 2011 poster.

Tickets for the event are $35 and include a 2011 festival wine glass. They can be purchased at the door on the night of the event. For more information, call 831-438-1010.
