The local superstar gets help from Santa Cruz locals at a skate park for his first music video.

A large crowd of well over 200 local supporters and friends of Chris Rene showed up at the Jose Skate Park in Live Oak on Thursday afternoon for the R&B singer’s first music video.

Rene looked excited and at times nervous.

As many already know Rene made a name for himself on Fox’s television show The X-Factor.   His popularity grew every week as he climbed over the ladder of elimination and his “Love Life” slogan was a normal thing to see in the area.

On Thursday, the rave continued at the skate park when Rene was on set to shoot the music video to his original hit single, “Young Homie.”

The hyped up crowd made their way into the skating area and surrounded Rene along with the camera crew to fill in as background.

However, right before the camera started to roll Rene had one more duty to complete.  The role of superstar instantly vanished when Rene heard his son Ryan call for daddy and in a flash the little one was up in his arms.
