Art @ The Adobe: A very special First Friday at the Santa Cruz Mission

Please join Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks at Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park for First Friday: Art @ the Adobe, a special event featuring 'Cornelia's Adobe,' a photo exhibition by artist Buzz Ballenger.

The exhibit features the oldest building in Santa Cruz. This graceful adobe has been home to families from the Mission era, the Californio period and Victorian times until nearly the 21st century. This First Friday event is part of a sustained program to introduce this wonderful venue to locals and visitors alike.

Cornelia's Adobe is a series of large format, black-and-white photographs of the Santa Cruz Mission Adobe, taken in 1979-1982, when it was still privately owned. Before being restored and opened as a state park, the adobe was lived in by Cornelia Lunes Hopcroft, the last member of the Rodriguez family, who owned the building for almost 150 years.
