Get Out in Scotts Valley

Here are our suggestions to Get Out in and around Scotts Valley this weekend.

FREE MUSIC AT SKYPARK

Where/When: , 361 Kings Village Rd. Sunday, 3:30 p.m. 

Why Go: After a winter hiatus, the free summer concert series at Skypark is back. Be there Sunday for the kickoff of a wonderful Scotts Valley tradition. The opening performance will be an afternoon and evening of blues performed by Mike Annuzzi followed by the Kaye Bohler Band. Plenty of concessions will be there selling food and even wine.  All profits from the concessions will be donated to the music programs of Scotts Valley schools.

Where/When: , 361 Kings Village Rd. Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. 

Why Go: The theme for this year's  Garden Faire is "Celebrating Abundance." The event under clusters of canopies will include speakers on sustainable gardening and demonstrations of sustainable gardening practices. Garden plants and products will be for sale and there will also be family friendly activities and things for the kids to do.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: , 9341 Mill St., Ben Lomond. Saturday, 3-6 p.m.

Why Go: The name says it all—ukuleles gone wild. Featuring Rick Duncan and special guests Rhan Wilson, Carolee Burrows' All Shook Up band, and local favorites Burning Bacon. And you can bring your ukulele too!

Pricing: $5 donation

Where/When: , 400 Beach St. Friday, 6:30 p.m.

Why Go: The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk free Friday concert is a winner this time around. Eric Burden and the Animals perform. You won't want to miss this chance to see the people who brought you "The House of the Rising Sun" in concert.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: , 911 Soquel Ave., Santa Cruz. Saturday, noon-4 p.m.

Why Go: A skate party in the parking lot of Whole Foods Market! Whole Foods along with Grind Out Hunger are working together on this fundraising Skate Jam.  Bring food or money in exchange for an afternoon of skating or skateboarding.

Pricing: $5 or 5 pounds of food to skate

Where/When: 1855 41st Ave., # G-11, (In the Mall Parking Lot) Capitola. Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Why Go: It's time for Bikes on the Bay—the show that highlights vintage motorcycles and scooters. See what was being used before 1988, not just American, but European and Japanese too. There will also be a swap meet where you may be able to find rare parts. Motorcycles and scooters will also be for sale.
