Patch Picks: Valentine's Day Most Romantic Restaurants

Here are our picks for the area's most romantic restaurants.

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, and romance is in the air. Woo your sweetie with a special evening at one of these area restaurants.

1. Mint, 4652 Scotts Valley Dr. #103, will have an aphrodisiac-filled menu sure to make you swoon. Among the many menu choices will be oysters, steamed clams, shrimp cocktail and shrimp and crab Louie. Wine specials will also be available. Reservations are recommended. 831-438-5900

2. , 4402 Scotts Valley Dr., plans a special menu made for lovers. Get your romance on during lunchtime with Malone's signature burger. Offered from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., it comes with fries or onion rings and a glass of champagne for two. The dinner menu will boast many other specials for sweethearts, including a 14-ounce steak au poivre, horseradish and herb-crusted prime rib, an 8-ounce steak oscar and an orange-crusted salmon. 3. Shadowbrook, 1750 Wharf Rd., Capitola, will celebrate love all weekend long. From Friday through Monday, it will showcase surf and turf specials, dessert specials and select wines from its extensive wine cellar. Space is limited, so reservations are highly recommended. 4. Clouds, 110 Church St., Santa Cruz, will boast an Italian, three-course fixed menu for $25 all weekend and all day Monday. A special offering of wines and champagne will also be available. Reservations are suggested. 831-429-2000

5. Gabriella Cafe, 910 Cedar St., Santa Cruz, has been described as the area's most romantic restaurant. It will highlight the romance of Valentine's Day with a special five-course meal for $75 per person. The first course will be a choice of oysters, foie gras, hiramasa crudo or crispy brussel sprouts. Second will be an arugula mandarin salad, beets with chevre mousse or crab salad. The next offering is house-made tagliatelle bolognese or artichoke raviolis. The fourth and main course will be lobster mushroom risotto, filet mignon, fish or duck. And finally, dessert is a choice of chocolate fondant, satsuma gelato, truffle gelato, candy cap cookies or port. Call ahead for reservations at 831-457-1677.
