The Golden Gate Bridge turns 75th next week, what your favorite memory of it Mountain View?

It's never too early to start planning a celebration and the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge on May 27th promises to be a big one.

I love bridges. Just the idea of "bridging" two areas and two communities makes sense. Bridges make me feel good. I grew up in New York within walking distance of the majestic George Washington Bridge, the country's first suspension bridge, and its steel art deco architecture as it stretches across the mighty Hudson River still takes my breath away.

The first time I ever saw the Golden Gate Bridge was when I flew to San Francisco to interview with Patch for this position, two years ago in April 2010. From my childhood friend's Pacific Heights apartment window I caught my first glimpses of the span of the big orange bridge. It was beautiful and magnificent. That afternoon, Marissa and her daughter took me to Baker Beach for a better view.
