Updated: Suspected DUI Crash Caused Lockewood Lane Power Outage

A section of the road was closed overnight while repairs were made to the power pole.

Update: The outage was caused by a suspected drunken driving crash, the Santa Cruz Sentinel reported.

About 300 homes lost power when a 43-year-old woman driving a Ford Excursion west on Lockewood Lane lost control of her vehicle, hit a power pole and other items, then collided with a Nissan Xterra driven by a 17-year-old girl, the newspaper reported.

The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. Both drivers were hurt.

Lockewood Lane between Tan Oak And Hidden Glen Drives will be closed until Tuesday, Scotts Valley police reported Monday evening.

Power wires down are down in the area.

Police ask that you use an alternate route.
