Update: The outage was caused by a suspected drunken driving crash, the Santa Cruz Sentinel reported. About 300 homes lost power when a 43-year-old woman driving a Ford Excursion west on Lockewood Lane lost control of her vehicle, hit a power pole and other items, then collided with a Nissan Xterra driven by a 17-year-old girl, the newspaper reported.
The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. Both drivers were hurt. Original story: Lockewood Lane between Tan Oak And Hidden Glen Drives will be closed until Tuesday, Scotts Valley police reported Monday evening.
