Local Baby Carrier Maker Competing for Super Bowl Commercial

Onya Baby, a small, family-owned company with roots in the San Lorenzo Valley, advanced to the second round of a competition for a free Super Bowl commercial.
The baby carrier-maker is one of dozens of small businesses vying for the top spot in the Small Business Big Game contest, sponsored by Intuit.

Onya combines a baby carrier with a built-in seat harness to turn a chair into a baby seat. On the competition website, the company is listed as Santa Cruz-based, though two of its three founders are from Zayante.
The field of competitors will be narrowed to 20 in late October. Then, over 8,000 Intuit employees will be given the opportunity to review each of the 20 semi-finalists. The employee vote will decide the final four businesses, which will then vie for votes from the public in the final stage of the contest.
