Bryan Stow Remains Comatose

His condition is still critical.

Bryan Stow, the San Francisco Giants fan who was severely beaten outside Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles in March, remains in critical condition, a hospital spokeswoman said Sunday.

"He continues to be in a comatose state," said Rosa Saca, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center, where 42-year-old Stow has received treatment since March 31.

"It's hard to know what the prognosis will be," she said.

was attacked on the night of March 31 by a pair of men clad in Dodgers apparel as he was walking with friends, who were all wearing Giants clothing, near Dodger Stadium's F2 parking lot.

The men, who remain at-large, approached Stow from behind, taunted him for being a Giants fan, and then hit him from behind, causing him to fall to the ground, according to police.

Stow's friends tried to intervene, but they also were attacked. His friends suffered minor injuries, but Stow was kicked and punched repeatedly by the suspects, according to police.

He was taken to a hospital and has been undergoing treatment since. Saca said on Sunday that doctors stopped the medication that was keeping him in a medically induced coma. They were considering having Stow undergo surgery but decided against it after finding a slight buildup of fluid in his brain, she said.

This weekend, his doctors will continue to monitor his condition and to give him his regular medications, Saca said. "We don't know at this point if there is any brain activity going on, but he continues to be monitored for seizures, swelling and bleeding," she said. "We are cautiously observing him."

Los Angeles police described the suspects as Hispanic men from 18-25 years old.

The first suspect is described as a bald Hispanic man, between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-10. He is about 170 pounds, with a mustache and goatee, and was wearing a Dodgers jersey, dark shorts, and a blue hat with "LA" in white lettering. He is also believed to have a mole on his left cheek.

The second suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male with short hair and hazel eyes who is about 6-foot-1.

He was last seen wearing dark clothing and was possibly wearing jeans and a black tank top. He might have tattoos on one or both shoulders, according to police.

A third suspect has also been noted as a 20-year-old Hispanic woman who may have been driving a getaway car.

She is described as being about 5-foot-3, with brown or dyed hair worn in a ponytail. She was seen with a 10-year-old boy in a newer light-colored luxury sedan with a tan interior, police said.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call Los Angeles police at 877-527-3247.
