Curbside Tree Recycling Begins Today

County will pick up trees on regularly scheduled garbage days.

Christmas tree recycling starts today throughout Santa Cruz County.

The trees are collected for free. They will be chipped and used for landscaping mulch or used as fuel to generate electricity, county officials said.

Trees will be picked up from garbage service customers at the curb on regular collection days. Pickup will continue in Scotts Valley through Jan. 28 and in unincorporated areas until Jan. 21.
