Get Bagged By SVPD This Weekend

Officers will be bagging groceries to raise money for Special Olympics on Sunday.

Scotts Valley Police Officers will have the Scotts Valley Market surrounded this Sunday. But don’t worry, no one will be going to jail.

Officers will be participating in Bagging 4 Bucks, a fundraiser benefiting The Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run, and all they ask is that you tip your baggers—SVPD officers and department members.

The Scotts Valley Police Department has participated in the Torch Run and in raising money for Special Olympics for many years. In June,when in made its way through Scotts Valley, joining the more than 500 law enforcement personnel from throughout Northern California that participated. The Torch Run, which raised over $1 million last year, is the single largest supporter of Special Olympics Northern California.

In addition to having an SVPD officer bag your groceries, the event will also include special holiday wine and cheese tastings, special pricing on selected items, a raffle for a new bike and a $100 gift card to Scotts Valley Market, tasting and sampling stations, and an outdoor barbecue. SVPD reserve officers will also be onsite with free ChildPrint ID Kits.
