Family Movie Night
Where/When: Siltanen Park Amphitheater, 121 Vine Hill School Rd. Friday, 6:30-9 p.m.
What: Vine Hill Elementary will be hosting a free movie night under the stars. Families are invited out to watch “How to Tame Your Dragon,” which will be projected on a big screen by the Vine Hill Elementary School PTA. Popcorn and hot chocolate will be offered for free, and Dawgs Hot Dogs of Scotts Valley will be selling their tasty dogs.

“The Gift of Art” Exhibit
Where/When: Santa Cruz Mountains Art Center, 9341 Mill St., Ben Lomond. Opening reception, Friday, 6-8 p.m. Art exhibit, Now through Dec. 24. Wednesdays-Sundays, noon-6 p.m.
What: The Art Center’s newest exhibit, “The Gift of Art,” is now on display with art works from local artists.

Models and Miniatures Exhibit
Where/When: San Lorenzo Valley Museum, 12547 Highway 9, Boulder Creek. Opening reception, Friday, 5-7 p.m. Art exhibit, through Oct. 28. Wednesdays-Sundays, noon-4 p.m.
What: During the month of October the San Lorenzo Valley Museum will be hosting an exhibition of models and miniatures. On display at the Museum will be model trains, cars, ships, dollhouses and dollhouse miniatures, miniature books, artwork, and much more.
Price: Admission is free but a $5 donation is suggested.
Blessing of the Beasts
Where/When: St. Phillip’s Episcopal Church, 5271 Scotts Valley Dr. Sunday, 10 a.m.
What: Everyone loves their pets, and for all the love they give back to you, St. Phillip’s would like to bless them. During the annual Blessing of the Beasts, any animal that is taken to the church will be blessed. Everyone is welcome to bring their pets.
Santa Cruz Post Card & Paper Collectibles Show
Where/When: Hilton Santa Cruz-Scotts Valley, 6001 La Madrona Dr. Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
What: Whether you want to buy or have an appraisal done, this is the place to be. Ten dealers will be hosting more than 30 tables, meaning there will be something for everyone, from the casual to the avid collector, and attendees can get free appraisals of their postcards and paper collectibles.
Price: Admission is $4
