Santa is Coming to Town!

Annual Christmas Tree lighting is a festival of holiday cheer for the whole family.

Get ready for some holiday cheer because Santa Clause is coming to town and the sky will brighten with the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree.

On Dec. 3, the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival will kick off at 5 p.m. at the Scotts Valley Community Center, 360 Kings Village Dr. The annual event, sponsored by the Scotts Valley Chamber of Commerce businesses, will be a fun-filled evening of community spirit and giving and will serve as a major fundraiser for Valley Churches United Missions.

Guests to the event will be greeted by the Vine Hill Service Club and a local Boy Scout Troop will honor the flag. The Gateway Bible Church musical team will lead the community in Christmas carols and the Scotts Valley High School Chorale and Vine Hill Service Club will perform as well.

Then it is all about Santa, who will be making his grand entrance atop a Scotts Valley fire engine to celebrate the lighting of the Christmas tree. For the price of donated food or cash, you can have your picture taken with Santa by professional photographer Jesse Gabriel, or get a cup of soup in the community center to warm up during the evening.

The event will commence with the lighting of the Christmas tree in the community center parking lot. Be sure and bring the whole family and cans of food for Valley Churches for an evening of holiday cheer that you won’t want to miss!
