Guadalupe Cortez was last seen with two men swimming in the river by Highlands Park.

A dead body was found shortly after 4 p.m. Monday near Highlands Park in Ben Lomond, Sheriff's Deputy April Skalland told Patch.

It has not yet been confirmed if the person found is in fact Guadalupe Cortez, the missing Soquel woman sought by Search & Rescue teams on Monday.

Cortez was reported missing Monday at 9 a.m. She was last seen alive at 12:30 Sunday afternoon swimming near the park with two men.

The green Jeep belonging to Cortez was found unoccupied at the park. Search & Rescue used search dogs, ground crews and a water team to canvass the San Lorenzo River area.

Without confirmation that the body is Cortez, Skalland said there is little resolution at this point. The men she was with are not yet considered suspects of any foul play with so much left to be determined.
