Man Dies After Car Strikes Tree in the Rain

The 21-year-old Felton man crashed on Graham Hill Road early Wednesday morning.

A 21-year-old Ben Lomond man died early this morning after his car went off a rain-slicked roadway near Felton and struck a tree, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on Graham Hill Road east of Summit around 1:30 a.m. when the man lost control of his 2000 Toyota Tacoma, Officer Sarah Jackson said.

The man, whose name has not yet been released, was taken to Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, where he succumbed to his injuries, Jackson
said.

He appeared to have been wearing his seatbelt, and Jackson said she did not yet know whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

No other vehicles were involved.
