A motorist died Saturday when a Jeep Wrangler went off the road and down an embankment in Ben Lomond, ending up about 35 feet down into a creek under a bridge, authorities said.
The crash at Glen Arbor Road, near Newell Creek Road, was reported at 1:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The road needed to be closed for a time for crews to winch the vehicle out of the creek, the CHP reported.
