Police Blotter: Petty Theft, Vandalism, Possession

The following arrest information was supplied by the Scotts Valley Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

On April 2 at 4:10 p.m. on Mt. Hermon Road–A man was detained by Kmart loss prevention after he was observed leaving the store with concealed merchandise. He had a no bail warrant and was on probation. He was arrested and booked into County Jail.

On April 2 at 10:57 p.m. on Highway 17–A driver stopped during a traffic stop consented to a search, which resulted in marijuana and prescription medication being found. The driver did not have a medical marijuana card or a valid prescription. He was arrested and booked into County Jail.

On April 2 between 8:52 and 11 a.m. on Mt. Hermon Road–An unknown person attempted to force entry into a business. The person damaged the doorknob to the business but was unable to gain entry. Pry marks were also located on the back door. An in-store surveillance camera recorded the incident.

On April 5 at 1:09 p.m. on Mt. Hermon Road–A man was detained by Kmart loss prevention after exiting the store with concealed merchandise. The man was issued a misdemeanor citation for petty theft and released at the scene.

On April 5 at 11:11 p.m. on Granite Creek Road and Scotts Valley Drive–A man skateboarding in the roadway was almost hit by an officer driving a patrol car. The man was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was arrested and booked into County Jail.

On April 5 at 1:49 p.m. on Civic Center Drive–A woman was found to be on probation after a probation search was conducted on her boyfriend in a shared living space. After review of her terms, it was determined that she was in violation of her probation.

On April 6 at 5:06 p.m. on Terrace View Drive and Scotts Valley Drive–A man was contacted by police and consensually tested for controlled substances per his probation terms. He tested positive for several controlled substances in violation of his probation and was arrested and booked into County Jail.

On April 6 at 10:31 p.m. on Mt. Hermon Road–An unknown person sprayed graffiti on the rear door of a business.

On April 7 at 3:41 a.m. on Highway 17 and Mt. Hermon Road–A driver was stopped for drifting over the fog lanes multiple times, and was found to have a suspended license. The driver was given a misdemeanor citation and was released at the scene. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
