Police Release Photo Of Suspect In 2 Walmart Robberies

Same man thought to have robbed stores in Fremont and San Leandro.

Police in San Leandro and Fremont are looking for Melvin Landry, Jr., pictured above, who is suspected of involvement in the armed robberies of Walmart stores in each of those two cities.

A Walmart on Davis Street in San Leandro was robbed by two men, at least one of whom was armed, on December 17.

On Thursday, January 3, two men robbed the Walmart at 40580 Albrae St. in Fremont at gunpoint before fleeing in a black BMW with large chrome rims.

Police now think Landry may have been involved in both robberies.

Fremont police have obtained a Ramey warrant for his arrest in the amount of $310,000.

Landry is known to frequent Oakland and Sacramento.

Dominque Martin was determined to be involved in the Fremont robbery and was arrested the following day, police said.

Now authorities are asking for public assistance to locate Landry.

Contact Fremont Detective Joshua Ehling at (510) 790-6934 or San Leandro Detective Sergeant Ted Henderson at (510) 577-3237 with any additional information.

Citizens can also send an anonymous tip to San Leandro Police Department by texting the word SLPD and their tip to 847411 or leaving an anonymous tip at (510) 577-3278.

I'm just waiting for one of his family members or friends to join in on here to tell everyone what a wonderful person he is. It seems to never fail.

He was an aspiring rapper getting his life back together, finishing his GED. Loved and respected his Mother, church, and that cocoa puff on his cheek, but had no respect for law or society. Melvin, yeah that's a gangsta name alright, right up there with Percival.

Really, Amber? One mistake makes this story- "Homicide during Wal Mart Robbery". Before this freakshow puts a bullet in someone (or what will make it important to you, putting a bullet in someone YOU know)...
