Register Now for SVPD's Annual D.A.R.E. Golf Tournament

The deadline is on May 6 for this annual event at Valley Gardens Golf Course.

There is still time to sign up for the annual D.A.R.E. Golf Tournament. The May 6 deadline is fast approaching though so get yourself registered then grab your clubs and head out to Valley Gardens on May 18 for a day of golfing and good times all for a great cause.

Money raised from the 15th-annual event will go toward supporting D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), a curriculum that SVPD officers teach to fifth-grade students. The program teaches life lessons they can use every day, such as building self esteem, learning assertiveness, managing stress, reducing violence, saying yes to positive alternatives and making decisions about behaviors and resisting drugs, alcohol, gangs and other negative situations. Proceeds will also go toward programs such as Red Ribbon Week, the Junior Police Academy and Bicycle Rodeo.

“Your support of DARE through your participation in this annual fundraiser is greatly appreciated and shows your leadership role is a true commitment toward making Scotts Valley a safer place for our youth,” the SVPD said in a press release.
