Police department will be holding three sessions throughout the summer.

The Scotts Valley Police Department will be offering a free self defense class for women 18 and older.

The class will cover personal awareness, less than lethal devices for civilians, and basic self-defense. The self-defense techniques taught in the class are designed to incapacitate an assailant allowing an individual to escape to a safer position.

The class will include classroom presentations and practical “hands-on” instruction with certified instructors who have backgrounds in self-defense, martial arts and tactics.
