Three Teenagers Arrested For Rummaging Through Cars Near Skypark

Numerous stolen items and marijuana were found in the suspects' vehicle.

Two teen boys and a 19-year-old man were arrested early Monday morning after a resident in the Skypark neighborhood noticed people rummaging through cars.

Officers were called to the area around 2 a.m. after a resident said someone had gone through their car and that several other cars in the area had interior lights on, according to Scotts Valley Police.

Three people were seen walking in the neighborhood wearing dark clothing around the same time.

Officers conducted a stop on a car leaving the area. The three people inside were identified as Decheng Huang, 19, who was the driver, and his 16- and 14-year-old passengers. All three are from Soquel.

Numerous stolen items were found in the car, along with marijuana. The property was stolen from cars and residences in Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz, police said.

The three were arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property; conspiring to commit a crime; and prowling and loitering on private property, police said.

Huang, who was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, was booked at the Santa Cruz County Jail. The two boys were booked at the Santa Cruz County Juvenile Probation Division.
