Woodmen Present Check to SVPD for Special Olympics

Police officers bag for bucks to raise money for Special Olympics and local Woodmen chapter matches the funds.

The Scotts Valley Police Department recently received a check for $2,500 from the Scotts Valley Chapter of the Modern Woodmen of America to be donated to the Special Olympics of Northern California.

The Woodmen matched funds that police officers raised on Dec. 19 by bagging groceries for shoppers at Scotts Valley Market. The Bagging 4 Bucks event was a fundraiser for the Special Olympics and the $5,000 raised will be used to help fund and support local athletes.

The SVPD has long supported Special Olympics and Bagging 4 Bucks is just one of several fundraising events they host each year.
