Anna Eshoo's Seat Cost almost $1.5 Million

Rep. Anna Eschoo, whose 18th District includes Scotts Valley, easily won re-election last fall, keeping the seat she's held since 1993.

But how much did his House seat cost her?

Campaigns cost money—most of the time lots of it. In terms of dollars and cents, Farr raised $1,489,802 during the 2012 election cycle, according to MapLight, a non-profit that tracks money in politics.

That figure is pretty standard: the average House member raised $1,689,580, or $2,315 a day, according to MapLight.
