Library Patio Takes Form

Backyard BBQ season may be ending, but the library is cooking up a hot new spot to hang out.

The Friends of the Library in Scotts Valley broke ground on a new back patio project, the group's website reported.

Phase I is underway, the initial hardscape is being installed, this includes demolition of existing exterior, installation of drainage, and decking. Plants, final irrigation, mulch, tables, benches, chairs, umbrellas (shade) will be added as funds allow.

The project aims to transform about 3,500 square feet behind the new library into a community gathering place. Read more about it in this story from the Santa Cruz Sentinel.

Also, ceck out what the project will look like when completed. There are concept drawings for the patio, as well as additional photos of the patio construction here on the The Library page.

We live off of Scotts Valley Drive. There is a person that drives up and down Scotts Valley DriveRead More quite often. He has a dog that rides in the back of his pickup truck. The dog barks as he is riding and sounds like he is just in heaven going for those rides. We want to tip our hat to this man for being such a good dog parent. We look forward to hearing those barks of excitement for many moons to come. Right on sir! And keep on being the good parent you are.
