Locals Named to County Fair Board

Gov. Jerry Brown announced the appointments this week.

A Felton man and a Watsonville woman are the two newest members of the Santa Cruz County Fair Board of Directors, the Governor's Office announced Friday.

Les Gardner, 66, of Felton and Diana Moreno-Inman, 48, of Watsonville have been appointed to the 14th District Agricultural Association, Santa Cruz County Fair Board.

Gardner has been a self-employed real estate investor and private lender since 1966. He was a self-employed spring water supplier from 1985 to 2003. Gardner is a member of the Valley Women’s Club.

Moreno-Inman has been a senior financial education and marketing specialist at Bay Federal Credit Union since 2011. She was owner and management consultant at Moreno Inman and Associates from 2006 to 2011 and was program coordinator at the Mariposa County Unified School District from 2003 to 2006. Moreno-Inman was assistant director at Imperial Valley Small Business and Development Center from 2001 to 2003 and was an international account representative at Spectrum Advertising from 1998 to 2000. She served as board president at the Pajaro Valley Performing Arts Association from 2008 to 2012.

This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Both Gardner and Moreno-Inman are Democrats.

The Santa Cruz County Fair has been mired in financial difficulties and legal battles. Its experienced significant turnover in leadership in recent years.
