  • With the recent vote by the Santa Cruz Board of Supervisors to divide Scotts Valley into two supervisorial districts, the Scotts Valley City Council will discuss the available options to challenge the new redistricting plan. The city has two options to consider—a writ of mandate, which is essentially a lawsuit, and a referendum put before voters.
  • The council will discuss prioritizing transportation projects for funding by the Regional Transportation Commission. These projects include the Mt. Hermon Road/Scotts Valley Drive Intersection Improvement Project, Highway 17/Mt. Hermon Road Ramps, Bean Creek Road Sidewalks, Vine Hill School Road/Tabor Drive Sidewalks, Green Hills Road Bike Lanes, Casa Way Bike Lanes and Glenwood Drive Bike Lanes and Sidewalk.
  • The council will consider an ordinance that will allow the city to “opt into” a voluntary alternative redevelopment program that would “be authorized to continue to exist and carry out the provisions of the Redevelopment Law.”

The City Council will meet next on Oct. 5. For more information or to view the agenda for Wednesday's meeting, click here.
