New Scotts Valley Mixed Use Development Taking Shape

The grading is done, the roads are being paved and families and businesses will soon be able to move in.

The Woodside project on Scotts Valley Drive is starting to take shape and could see its first families this summer. The project was approved by the Scotts Valley City Council just over two years ago and will occupy part of an 18-acre former quarry site.

The project will consist of three commercial buildings — each one 5,000 square feet and 49 single family detached homes on small lots.

There are three available floor plans ranging from 1,700 to 1,900 square feet and three or four bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms.

According to Steve Garrett of the Castle Companies, the San Ramon based project developer, the homes will be priced in the mid $600,000s.

“We haven’t set prices just yet,” said Garrett.

Garrett also said his firm isn’t negotiating with any businesses yet to fill the commercial spaces. He said the commercial spaces are appropriately sized for business professionals or restaurants.

“Model homes should be ready in late spring or early summer,” said Garrett, who anticipates homeowners will be moving in by late June or early July.
