Scotts Valley 4-H Members Are Going for Gold

Four students are headed to Davis to compete at State Field Day.

Four members of Scotts Valley 4-H are going for the Gold this weekend. The group is heading to Davis to compete in the State 4-H Field Day in the Beginning Guitar Project category.

The Beginning Guitar Project, led by Mindy Gillen, has been offered to 4-H students for a few years. This year’s project began in January with eight students. Four of those students, Cade Gillen, Jonathan Schulze, Chuckie Eidelman, and Junior Leader Galina Lee Cantey, won Gold awards at County Presentation Day in March and at Sectional (Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito Counties) Presentation Day in April.

Those students are heading to Davis for the upcoming competition. Last year's group won two Gold and a Blue award at State Field Day.
