SV PAL Midget Team Wins League Championship

The 11-0 team is the first in Scotts Valley PAL history to go undefeated.

The Scotts Valley Falcon PAL Football Midget team, undefeated in the regular season, concluded their playoff run by winning the San Jose Police Activities League Championship. They defeated the No. 2 seed Milpitas Knights 40-22 to claim their championship title. 

The team, averaging 32 points a game throughout the regular season with only 7 scored against them really stepped up their game in the playoffs. The Falcons out scored their playoff opponents 116-22 through their three post season games.   Their scoring average increased to 38 points a game and they shut out two of three opponents.

The majority of the coaching staff and team have been together for three years and have accumulated a 29-3 record along with the 2009 Pee Wee Championship.   

Head Coach Jim Danels knew he had a special group of players, and with the amazing work ethic, sense of teamwork and athleticism among them that they had the best chance ever to go undefeated and capture the Midget Championship.

He knew that every player and every position mattered and each one contributed to the wins and kept them focused by asking one question at the end of every game, “Are you satisfied?” The team responded with a resounding NO after every game. Saturday night, after 17 weeks of practice and games, bumps and bruises, hard work and sweat, the players finally answered, “YES!” 

The 11-0 team is the first undefeated team in Scotts Valley PAL history.
