SVMS Girls Basketball Team Finishes Season Strong

The team lost only one game during the season and dominates in championship play.

The Scotts Valley Middle School girls basketball team recently finished up a great season with a record of six wins and one loss.

In post season/tournament play, the team beat Shoreline 44 to 17, then followed that with what coach Greg Giguiere says was an exciting win against Mission Hill, with a score of 26 to 25. That win advanced the team to the final championship game against New Brighton, the only team they lost to during the regular season.

"We came out from the gate hard and at the end of the first half were up 19 to 9," Coach Giguiere said. "Coming into the second half, our girls put the pressure on, winning 34 to 21."
