What to Expect From Tonight's School Board Meeting

The Board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday night.

The Scotts Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, One Civic Center Dr. The board is expected to consider the following items:

  • The Board will receive information on reports for the district from the California Department of Education’s 2011-12 Accountability Progress Reporting System.  The APR provides an integrated approach to reporting results for state and federal accountability requirements. A presentation will be made to the Board highlighting the 2011-12 academic performance results from the California Standards Tests and the Academic Performance Index.
  • The Board will receive an update on the formation of the Measure K Oversight Committee. The committee will be appointed to advise the Board on the expenditures funded by the measure, monitor the expenditures, and report on an annual basis how the funds have been spent.
  • The Board will hear preliminary information on enrollment, staffing and budget updates for the 2012-13 school year.
  • The Board will accept information regarding the review and approval of the 2012-13 budget by the County Office of Education. A presentation will be made highlighting the elements of the budget.
