What to Expect From Tonight's School Board Meeting

Board will discuss search for new superintendent and preparing for a parcel tax campaign.

The Scotts Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the City Council Chambers, One Civic Center Dr. The board is expected to consider the following items:

  • The board will receive and discuss proposals from specific superintendent search consultants and determine the next steps in the process of replacing Superintendent Susan Silver, who is set to retire in June.
  • The board will receive information regarding preparation for a possible parcel tax campaign. 
  • The board will discuss adopting a resolution allowing school districts to pass a parcel tax with a 55 percent majority vote instead of the currently required two-thirds. 

The district’s next board of trustees meeting will be at 6 p.m. April 12.
