Patch Picks: Best Places to Watch Super Bowl XLV

Whether you’re a Packers or a Steelers fan, there are plenty of local places to root for your favorite team. These are just a few of the places you can go to catch the big game.

1. , 4402 Scotts Valley Dr., will host a free football pool with drawings every quarter and a prize going to the final winner. The kitchen will be closed, but there will be a lasagna buffet at halftime, and patrons are encouraged to bring a dish to share with the crowd.

2. Max’s Lounge, 6001 LaMadrona Dr., in the , will offer half off all its appetizers during game time.

3. The Trout Farm, 7701 E. Zayante Rd. in Felton, has four TVs for your viewing enjoyment. In addition to offering $4 Bloody Marys all day, it will have drawings and prizes throughout the game, including a raffle for a six-speed, fold-away bike. There will also be a soup contest, which anyone can enter, and every kind of soup is welcome. Tasters can vote for their favorite, and the winner will receive a cash prize of $50.

4. Santa Cruz's 99 Bottles of Beer, 110 Walnut Ave. in Santa Cruz, will pay homage to Super Bowl XLV with two dishes each from Pittsburgh and Green Bay. It will have happy-hour prices on pitchers and pints and half off all nachos and appetizers during game time.

5. Castaways, 3623 Portola Dr. in Santa Cruz, will offer $1 off all beer, wine and well-drinks, from 3-6 p.m.
