Warriors Waves: Warriors Complete the Sweep

Warriors complete their second game of season and complete the sweep in Reno.

The Santa Cruz Warriors handled their business in Reno as they completed the sweep with a 95-79 win over the Reno Bighorns.

The defense once again showed their athleticism and length as they blocked 11 total shots. They had a straggle-hold on the game holding the Bighorns to a dismal 29.4% shooting from the field.

The reigning D-League Defensive Player of the year, Stefhon Hannah, had a sensational game dropping in 25 points and dishing out four assists. He was one of four Warriors that was in double figures.

After a hotly contested first quarter the game slowed to a crawl because of numerous fouls on both teams, but the Warriors would convert on their free throws shooting 75.8% from the line while the Bighorns could not only shooting 58.5%.

The Warriors took a ten point lead into halftime and never looked back. The lead bloated to as big as 22 at one point in the third quarter. Though the Bighorns went on a run and cut the lead down to just six points with 10:02 in the fourth quarter, the Warriors, lead by Hannah's 12 point burst, would go on a 20-10 run and seal the game.

Travis Leslie was one board away from a double-double as he scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Jeremy Tyler who was assigned earlier from the Golden State Warriors saw just over 29 minutes of action with limited success. Mickell Gladness had a big game on the glass with 13 rebounds and he also contributed 9 points.

The Warriors will be back in action on Monday, December 3rd against the Bakersfield jam who ousted the Warriors, then known as the Dakota Wizards, last year in the playoffs. It will be the third game in the Warriors seven game road trip.
