The information posted about that night is inaccurate, and I'm not sure if its deliberate or not.Read More Anybody can look up a 1982 calendar online and see September 4th 1982 was a Saturday night. It was Labor Day weekend just before the school year started. Now, I can't say for sure whether there was a Golfland in 1982, but where Golfland is today at Wolfe and ECR (El Camino Real) did not exist. It was the Woolworth Garden Center at that time. The report I read in the paper stated a driver delivering to Woolworth Garden Center found her. Not a year goes by that I don't think about Karen, especially in September. I remember the night I heard the news. I had just gotten home from camping at Pinnacles with my mom, step-dad, sister, and her friend who lived next door to us. When we got home, my next door neighbor called me and asked what Karen's last name was. When I told her Karen's name, she told me she had been murdered. She then brought over the newspaper for me to read the story. Karen and I dated that previous school year. Her murder was part of my desire to become a police officer. While I realize the colder the trail goes, the harder it is to find witnesses and evidence...I will never lose hope that her killer(s) will be brought to justice. And if I'm able to, I will be in that courtroom to see the face of the animal(s) that took such a wonderful life away from her family and friends. She will always have a place in my heart.

Immigration status??
Dianna Bolin April 5, 2014 at 01:27 pm

Damn these young punks, still have nothing better to do, but go around trying to kill each other.Read More If there so into wanting to kill someone. Tell them to join the Marines and volunteer to go to the next war our country decided to participate in. These sorry punks would have a whole different look at life. Parents need to get back to the old school as whoopin. They need to get a grasp of there kids. My kids has all had there asses whipped if they stepped out of line. My kids are respectful to those around them. Hell my kids are even taught how to handle firearms properly. My 10yr old and 20yr old boys, both have there own weapons that they know how to load, unload and properly handle. It's pretty sad to see that these young kids keep turning toward gangs in order to feel like they belong to something. The ones that suffer is the families and innocent people. I grew up in Watsonville, then moved to Salinas as a teen. I met my wife when I was 20. Moved out of Cali back in 99' there is not as much crap in Washington. Not to mention this is an open carry state and with a permit you can conceal carry. I love my guns :)

Leaving all accusations of guilt aside, I see this ruling as an erosion of the legal definition of aRead More minor. In essence now, a high school kid or maybe even a middle school kid could be tried like an adult under this ruling. I do not think the courts have thought this through. And just for the sake of argument, where does the real responsibility lie? The drinker? The server (who maybe not be experienced enough to judge someones intoxication level) or the manufacturers and advertisers who promote drinking to the teen/college demographic? If minors are going to be treated as adults in the courts then they should be given the full rights of an adult!

oh yes ,but the under folks ,kids or what ever knows that you are not to drink booze til you are atRead More the age of 21. but i guess the kid could drink and driv e and kill some one and he or she can get away with it . that is wrong . if you are under age and you know it so what grow up and pay the price . the ones that charge you a fee or ask for a donation is still charging you a fee they should go to jail if you hurt or kill some one . time for the under age to grow up or send you to a nut hospital til you understand what you did is wrong and now you grow up fast if you wantout of the nut hospital you got to tell the courts why you were so dumb .

"....where have you been the last two days...." Uh, following the story, Ken. Yeah, iRead More heard all that, that you're talking about. One of the fastest way to defeat telephone scams is to have Caller ID and voice messaging installedRead More on your phone land line and have a phone that displays the party calling you. The simple rule of thumb is this, if you don't recognize either the phone number or the party calling you, have it go to voice mail. Should you answer the phone in a moment of forgetfulness and start hearing a strange sales pitch or request, just forget courtesy and hang up.
