The city of Scotts Valley was incorporated in 1966 and is now home to roughly 11,680 residents. It is in Santa Cruz…More County, just six miles north of the city of Santa Cruz and 26 miles southwest of San Jose. Nestled in the redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains, Scotts Valley has a rich history that goes back 124 years to when Hiriam D. Scott bought the San Augustin Rancho, known today as Scotts Valley, for $20,000.
The Scotts Valley Civic Center is home to the offices of City Manager Stephen H. Ando, City Clerk Tracy A. Ferrara and the city council chambers.
The elected, five-member city council is led by Mayor Dene Bustichi and includes council members Jim Reed, Stephany Aguilar, Randy Johnson, and Donna Lind. The council meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 6pm in the council chambers.
