When is the First Day of School in Scotts Valley?
Hate to say it, but summer is drawing to a close. The Scotts Valley Unified School District is gearing to start classes later this month.
Of course, the calendar just flipped over to August and families are smack in the middle of enjoying summer vacations.
But, back-to-school commercials hawking new clothes are already being shown on TV and that time of year is really just around the corner.
So, even though you are most likely still heading to the beach and pool, soaking up those rays of summer, here are some important things to know when it comes to the Scotts Valley Unified School District's 2013-14 calendar.
- First Day of School: Wednesday, Aug. 28
- Collect High School Registration Packets: Tuesday, Aug. 6 (grades 9 & 10) and Wednesday, Aug. 7 (grades 11 & 12)
- SOAR Day: Seniors 8:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20; Juniors 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20; Sophomores 8:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21; Freshmen 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21
- 6th Grade WEB (Welcome EveryBoday) Days at Scotts Valley Middle School: Last Names A - N: Tuesday, Aug. 20 9-10:30 a.m.; Last Names M - Z: Wednesday, Aug. 21 9-10:30 a.m.
- 7th/8th Grade New to SVMS WEB Day: Wednesday, Aug. 21 9-10:30 a.m.
- SVHS Freshman Orientation: 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21
- Returning 7th/8th Registration Day at SVMS: Thursday, Aug. 22, 8 a.m. to noon
