``Avoid deer carcasses (They can feast on one deer carcass for a week, hiding it in bushes andRead More staying in the area. If you ever encounter a deer carcass in bushes with leaves and twigs on top of it, don’t stick around, Ruiz said.)'' Naw. Sorry. Stinks up the entire neighborhood. Gotta bury the thing within a day or two or you will sure wish you had. My neighbor said he buried it. He covered it with leaves and a little dirt. I surely do wish he had buried it. I did it a week later.

Patch: Thanks for pointing out the unemployment rate tends to decline this time of year anyway dueRead More to "seasonal farm labor and tourism." And the reason its last drop was in November reflected temporary retail hires for the holiday season. Today's San Francisco Chronicle headlines provides another reason for the apparent drop: "Jobless rate dips - but many drop out." Or, those whose unemployment ran out or who simply gave up on looking for a job are no longer counted as unemployed. I think unemployment statistics also omit those graduating students unable to find work who haven't worked in the past and therefore technically cannot become unemployed. Figures lie and liars figure.

We live off of Scotts Valley Drive. There is a person that drives up and down Scotts Valley DriveRead More quite often. He has a dog that rides in the back of his pickup truck. The dog barks as he is riding and sounds like he is just in heaven going for those rides. We want to tip our hat to this man for being such a good dog parent. We look forward to hearing those barks of excitement for many moons to come. Right on sir! And keep on being the good parent you are.
