Get Out in Scotts Valley: Habitat for Humanity Garage Sale, Gin Blossoms and Dawgs!

Pick up a steal of a deal at a local garage sale to benefit a good cause, enjoy a concert at the beach or drive down the coast and take in the annual Strawberry Festival this weekend in and around Scotts Valley.

Where/When: Dawgs!, 5272 Scotts Valley Dr. Saturday, noon-2 p.m.

Why Go: Dawgs! will have fun kids’ activities, free food samples, and special anniversary food discounts ready to go for all patrons this Saturday to celebrate its one year anniversary! Join fellow residents, bring the family and snack on a dawg for a nice afternoon treat this weekend.

Where/When: Race start line is at Alexander and Union Street in downtown Watsonville. Start time for the first race is 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The final race begins at 5:20 p.m. 

Why Go: The inaugural cycling race coincides with the annual Strawberry Festival in Watsonville. Sponsored by California Giant Berry Farms, the race will feature over 200 cyclists as they buzz through the streets of Watsonville.

Where/When: Capitola Book Café, 1475 41st Ave # G, Capitola. Thursday, 7:30-9 p.m. 

Why Go: California Assemblymember Bill Monning will speak about his "Vision for a Healthy California" on Thursday night at the Capitola Book Cafe. Join your fellow Santa Cruz County residents to listen to the assemblymember discuss the timely issue to California, the county and the nation. 

Pricing: Free

Where/When: 114 Hacienda Dr., Scotts Valley. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. 

Why Go: Proceeds from the weekend sale will support Habitat's project on Blake Lane in Scotts Valley. Items that cannot be used in the construction of Blake Lane, extra building materials, doors, windows, hand tools, power tools, and more will be sold to the public.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: City Plaza, W. Beach Street and Main Street, Watsonville. Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. 

Why Go: The 17th annual Watsonville Strawberry Festival at Monterey Bay will be held in downtown Watsonville this weekend. Come enjoy live music, local arts and crafts and, of course, yummy strawberry cuisine. 

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Friday, 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. 

Why Go: The summer series rocks on with 90s rockers the Gin Blossoms this week at the Boardwalk. With hits such as "Hey Jealousy," "Found Out About You" and "Till I Hear it From You," beachgoers are in for a fun flashback to the rock crazy decade of the 90s. The first show begins at 6:30 p.m.
