Calling All Actors!

Auditions for Scotts Valley Performing Arts' 'Annie Get Your Gun' have been extended.

Scotts Valley Performing Arts will hold open auditions for Annie Get Your Gun on Friday from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Theater, 800 Bethany Dr.

Director Paul Sawyer and musical director Rachel Nachison are casting actors between the ages of 10 and 70. Actors should bring a resume and head shot and prepare a 32-bar selection of up-tempo music, not from Annie Get Your Gun. A short monologue is also recommended but not required.

Callbacks are Saturday from noon-6 p.m., and rehearsals will begin on Aug. 1.

Irving Berlin’s musical, which recounts the life of Annie Oakley (1860-1926), who was a sharpshooter from Ohio, and her husband, Frank Butler, is a shining example of two of America's greatest storylines: the "rags to riches" tale and the tale of the glory of show business.
